Your future role within QRT:

The successful candidate will join the global infrastructure team at QRT. You will be responsible for architecting, engineering and subsequent delivery oversight across all aspects of the QRT network estate but with particular focus on our research infrastructure. The research infrastructure is a combination of AWS and a brand new and state of the art data centre platform which delivers the highest performance computing and data platforms.


Scope of the team is to deliver network solutions which enable full lifecycle management (architect, design, build, operate, retire) for our data centre network components across core network switching, firewalls, load balancers, instrumentation/telemetry, network CMDB and automation. We implement a strict IAC (Infrastructure as Code) mindsight at QRT, and therefore it is crucial that any candidates must be able to demonstrate delivery of complex networks, at scale, which have been delivered through a software and automation driven mindset.


You will have deep knowledge of high-performance networking including detailed knowledge of the product capabilities and roadmaps from the likes of Cisco, Arista, Juniper and NVIDIA. You will have direct experience of delivering network solutions supporting high performance scale out storage, large scale data centre networking, AI/ML GPU to GPU networking along with associated automation, telemetry and instrumentation frameworks.


Your present skillset:

  • As a senior network engineer, you will partner closely with research and other infrastructure engineering teams and work in a highly collaborative manner
  • You will be an engineering lead or a senior member of an existing engineering team where you have direct responsibility and accountability for a complex and high-performance network infrastructures
  • You will be able to demonstrate expert knowledge of delivering complex network architectures delivered via software driven and agile methodology
  • You will have deep knowledge of delivering networks supporting high-performance and low latency computing architectures at hyper scale levels
  • You will have deep knowledge of the network vendor ecosystem and be able to demonstrate building engineering relationships at senior layers with vendor product and engineering teams
  • You will stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the network infrastructure remains cutting-edge
