Procurement Department

The Procurement team is responsible for securing the equipment Vantage’s data centers require to function. The team leads these efforts from conception through commissioning, working with Sales, Operations, New Site Development, and Engineering along the way.  Procurement also works closely with vendor partners to come up with a vertically integrated design, and we manage these partners to deliver the projects on schedule and budget.  Vantage is unique in that our technical staff is given the responsibility and authority to directly drive the process.  Our internal team can align long-term operational sustainability with value engineering and cost metrics to deliver products aligned with corporate goals.  This approach empowers each member of the team to drive high- impact decisions and even more impactful results.

Position Description

In a Procurement Manager, Vantage is looking for a highly motivated and experienced, self-starter to be an integral part of a team that manages Owner Furnished Contractor Installed Equipment (OFCI) and corresponding supply chains.  In this role, you will have strategic tasks but also may support on project operational procurement tasks.

You will deal most of the time with strategic tasks such as market intelligence for OFCI, shaping procurement strategy along with the EMEA OFCI leadership, play a key role in supporting/managing regional RFPs, and manage savings/value engineering for the regions.

From time to time, you may support projects in some aspect of the equipment procurement and delivery process but also help resolving issues with vendors in case of conflict.

Regular collaboration and coordination will be required with our external supply chain partners and numerous internal teams such as Construction, Cost & Finance, Operations, Design Engineering and Legal.  Occasional travel to Vantage Data Center sites may also be required.

Responsibilities

  • Market intelligence, supplier qualification and performance management
  • Regional RFP management
  • Coordination Design Input/Workshops to Procurement
  • Work on Value Engineering and vertical integrations to create savings
  • Help developing a category data base along with Desing & Engineering team
  • Support on maintaining an OFCI Budget up to date for the EMEA region
  • Support in the regional negotiations and establishment of contracts
  • Maintain an OFCI inventory and liaise with the other Procurement Managers of the region
  • Support and management the OFCI Strategy with the Senior Procurement Manager
  • Maintain and develop the relationship with our partners

Duties

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure clarity of the specifications and operational requirements
  • Work with the Finance to ensure the Budget is up to date
  • Negotiate best-landed price with primary and secondary vendors, as applicable
  • Support the negotiation of complex requests for equipment and services from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Manage and support equipment inventory planning efforts and forecasting
  • Perform market intelligence
  • Lead savings target
  • Manage the inventory data base

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Supply Chain Management, is required
  • 5, or more, years of experience in a supply chain, procurement, or construction is required
  • Data Center or industrial equipment experience is strongly preferred
  • Technical aptitude of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experience with construction and supplier contracts
  • Knowledge of construction management processes
  • Aptitude to learn quickly and drive things to closure autonomously is required
  • Strong agility profile
  • Strong business acumen and commercial background is required
  • Excellent knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques is required
  • Superb communication skills and the ability to comfortably present technical data to executive level leadership
  • Good knowledge of contract establishment
