As a Product Owner, you will manage the execution of NMI’s strategy and roadmap, while facilitating backlog grooming, prioritisation, triage and other development ceremonies. Our Product Owners also take an active role in product launches, ensuring internal stakeholders are trained on the latest product capabilities. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision and attention to detail, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time learning the product and understanding its users in order to make the best design decisions for our clients.

What will I be doing?
- Prioritise the product backlog and coordinate with stakeholders including the Product Manager, customer facing teams, executives, and your development team to deliver maximum value and quality to the market
- Serve as a subject matter expert in the relevant product domains
- Develop an understanding of the target market and user base; Uses this to guide product decisions
- Develop epics and user stories for all new functionality, present user stories to product teams and ensure new functionality meets the acceptance criteria
- Partner with stakeholders to help define Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that delivers incremental value; Ensure MVP aligns with product vision and NMI’s strategic goals
- Work with development team, Product Manager and other Product Owners to do release planning
- Write detailed release notes and provides product training to internal teams
- Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure new products and functionality work as expected
- Work with other Product Owners to ensure dependencies are prioritized appropriately across teams
- Communicate work in progress and upcoming work to key stakeholders
- Ensure the conceptual and functional integrity of new features or components
- Help establish timelines and product benchmarks
- Develop the voice of customer information through customer interviews

Do I have what it takes?
The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity and approaches problem solving, teamwork, and innovation with a positive attitude. This person has a very strong understanding of our customers, including the driving forces in payments technology and product evolution. Must possess strong coaching skills and the ability to motivate teams and individuals around a common vision of product development excellence.

- At least 1-3 years of product owner experience or similar/equivalent
- Ideal candidate has experience in Ecommerce, Retail and/or Payments technology. Payment technology experience preferred
- Ability to take business requirements and translate them into detailed product specifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with customers, business and technical team members across the organization
- Knowledgeable in technology and comfortable reading technical specifications and working with APIs and SDKs
- Ability to effectively communicate and work in a distributed environment with colleagues located in different geographical regions and across various levels of departments
- Passion for solving puzzles and understanding how different solutions work together in a retail, ecommerce or payments environment
