The opportunity:

Change Delivery is a global function that works with the Board and executive management to provide full research and development to advise and deliver critical initiatives. The International portfolio comprises initiatives across wide range of regions and types including but not limited to: product launches, new distribution channels, setting up new functions / teams, acquisitions, and operational efficiency programmes.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the Change Delivery team.

Working as part of a small team, the individual will be responsible for supporting strategic priorities by implementing business and technical solutions, within agreed timescales and budget.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll be responsible for leading significant business and technical projects that align with international strategic goals. This includes defining and driving business benefits within specified time frames, cost, quality, and risk, as well as managing, reporting, and communicating progress. You’ll engage with the business from the start to the closure of projects, ensuring benefits are realised and that quality and technical standards are met.

Your duties will involve building and recommending project and program proposals in collaboration with stakeholders, determining approaches, resource requirements, and limitations. You’ll lead the development of business cases for projects and programs, track their progress, and plan and monitor the program and interrelated projects. This includes creating stage and exception plans, mobilising and motivating project teams, managing third-party deliverables and targets, and reporting on project and program risks while developing contingency plans.

You’ll also be responsible for monitoring overall progress, resources, and budgets, initiating corrective actions when necessary, and maintaining project and program governance, change control, and configuration management. You’ll work with IT stakeholders to ensure projects meet technical standards and ensure a smooth transition to business as usual, with benefits being owned and measured.

Our must-haves:

  • Experience working in the London Market Insurance sector, exposure to the Delegated Authority preferable

  • Significant experience of working in project management and driving business outcomes

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong capability in project financial management

  • Strong change management / business improvement experience

  • Experienced in rigorous planning and delivering in tight timescales and constraints 

  • Knowledge & experience in vendor contract negotiation and management

  • Knowledge & experience of Agile and Waterfall delivery methodology

  • Solid understanding of MS applications and project management tools, for the planning, tracking and manipulation of project plans, data and MI

  • Prince 2 or equivalent Project Management certification
