At Bezos, our vision is to Deliver Happiness - for our team, for end consumers, for the e-commerce brands we serve, and for our logistics partners. We're the managed global fulfilment partner for scaling e-commerce brands: one platform and one team handling fulfilment across a global fulfilment network, spanning the UK, Europe, North America and Australia. We give growing brands enterprise-grade logistics without the enterprise-grade complexity. We're a fast-moving, AI-native, Series A startup that will almost double our business in 2026 - and the platform that makes it all run is exactly what you'll build.
The Mission: What You Will AchieveYou'll become a cornerstone of our engineering team and help build the platform that powers global fulfilment - orders, inventory, shipments and returns flowing across our network every day. Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, you won't just write production-grade code: you'll own core services end-to-end, mentor other engineers, influence the big technical decisions, and help shape how we build.
We're genuinely AI-native and we expect our engineers to build with AI every day. This is a hands-on, high-impact seat in a small team where one exceptional engineer changes the trajectory of the whole business.
Core Pillars of Success- Build the core platform. Design, develop and maintain scalable, secure services and APIs in our serverless cloud environment, predominantly in Go and React.
- Own it end-to-end. Take domain-specific services from architectural design through to deployment, monitoring, and investigating and fixing the root causes of issues - you build it, you run it.
- Build with AI. Use modern AI-powered dev tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) every day to ship faster, and help set the standard for how we engineer with AI.
- Champion engineering excellence. Raise the bar on development workflows, testing, deployment and observability. Release small, fast and often - and keep the code simple, because the best code is the code you don't have to write.
- Level up the team. Mentor other engineers through code reviews, pair programming and design discussions, and help shape our engineering culture and best practice.
- Get to know the platform end-to-end and ship your first production code in your opening weeks
- Take ownership of a domain-specific service, from design through to deployment and monitoring
- Establish your AI-assisted engineering workflow and share what's working with the team
- Start raising the bar through code reviews, pairing and design discussions
- Core Language: Go, React
- Cloud Provider: AWS (Lambda, SNS, SQS, S3, EC2, Cognito, CloudWatch)
- Database: PostgreSQL
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform
- Architecture: event-driven, serverless-first microservices
RequirementsWho You Are: Skills & Experience
Non-Negotiables:
- 2+ years in a senior software engineering role, ideally in a startup environment
- Strong backend fundamentals and deep commercial experience with Go - or a strong systems background in another language and the drive to master Go fast
- Extensive experience with AWS, event-driven architecture and serverless infrastructure like AWS Lambda
- Fluent designing and building RESTful APIs, with a solid grasp of microservice and serverless architectures
- AI-native - you already use AI-powered dev tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) and are genuinely excited to build with them every day
- A pragmatic builder with a knack for simplifying complex systems and shipping scalable solutions
- A product-oriented mindset - you care deeply about solving real user problems, not just shipping output
Bonus Points (Nice to Have):
- Strong React / front-end experience
- Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code
- E-commerce, logistics or supply-chain exposure
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical projects
Benefits
- Build the core platform that powers global fulfilment
- Real ownership and unusually fast scope - a hands-on software developer role where you can shape your career path
- An AI-native engineering culture where building with AI is the default, not an experiment
- Remote-first team, meeting in person a couple of times a month
- 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays
