At Reach Industries, we believe that scientists are solving some of the world's most pressing challenges, from combating climate change to developing vaccines and new treatments for diseases yet their tools are still poor. Our AI powered software platform, Lumi, automates operational data capture, insights and processes in labs, augmenting scientists so they can focus on the more creative aspects of their work. Lumi is versatile and is being applied across a wide range of life science industries, including in biotech and pharma.
We are a startup where the early team have a strong background in various frontier technologies and a deep love for making science better. We've already shipped a first version of the Lumi platform and we've received excellent feedback from early customers. We have very ambitious plans for Lumi ahead, so now we're looking for a Social Media intern for 3 months to become a vital part of our social strategy within our Marketing team.
About the Role
We’re looking for a creative and tech-savvy Social Media Intern with a passion for science, AI, and innovation to join our team. In this role, you will help communicate complex scientific concepts to a broad audience through engaging social media content, short-form videos, and creative storytelling. If you love experimenting with new ideas, staying ahead of digital trends, and making science accessible, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Create and manage content for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and other digital platforms.
- Film, edit, and produce short-form videos (Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts) to simplify and showcase scientific ideas.
- Develop and execute social media strategies to engage and grow our audience.
- Stay up to date with digital trends and experiment with new content formats.
- Write engaging captions, scripts, and short articles to support video and social media content.
- Track and analyse social media performance metrics to optimize engagement.
- Collaborate with scientists, researchers, and content creators to bring cutting-edge science to life.
What you bring
- Ideally a background in science, technology, engineering, or a related field within Marketing and Social
- Practical experience using social media platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, etc.).
- Ability to film and edit short-form videos using tools like CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or mobile editing apps.
- A strong interest in AI, tech, and innovation.
- A creative and proactive mindset, with a willingness to experiment.
Nice to Haves
- Interest in science communication or marketing.
- Strong copywriting skills for crafting compelling captions and scripts.
- Basic knowledge of SEO and social media analytics tools.
