Chewy is hiring a Software Development Manager for our B2B Marketplace team in Boston. Our team builds the systems, processes, and infrastructure that power Chewy's vet clinics businesses to unlock ordering from external 3P vendors. As an SDM, you will be responsible for a team of engineers who will be involved in delivering this third party marketplace for clinics.
In this role, you will work closely with 3P vendor technical teams to dive deep into identifying ways to best integrate with them to unlock them on your platform and scale the system to support their 3P assortment and order volumes. This senior technical leadership role offers broad exposure across the pharmacy, storefront ordering, fulfillment, and veterinary services organizations, providing the opportunity to define the long-term engineering vision and practices that will scale and grow Chewy's PracticeHub B2B business.

What you'll do:• Manage a team of software engineers responsible for building tools and insights for Chewy's B2B marketplace.• Drive priorities, technical decisions, delivery, continuous improvement, and support of current and future projects.• Define and advocate for guidelines in software development, testing, deployment, and production support.• Define and champion operational excellence that enable system observability and alarming. Continuously measure system availability and optimize system performance.• Lead and communicate technical designs, technology strategy, and priorities to other technical teams and senior management.• Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including, product managers, and operations customers, to deliver effective solutions that meet business objectives.• Manage Team Members' growth, deliver feedback and direction, and provide opportunities that fit their career path.
What you'll need:• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Systems Engineering or a similar math or engineering discipline.• Demonstrated history of implementing and managing significant software development projects in a CI/CD environment• 5-10 years of experience in Software Development as a software engineer• 2+ years of experience in Engineering Management• Strong expertise with both frontend and backend technologies such as React and Java.• Proven delivery experience working under an Agile/Scrum methodology• Ability to build highly scalable, distributed systems using cloud-native technologies such as AWS.• Ability to simultaneously support multiple high priority projects in a fast-paced environment.• Established track record of implementing with urgency and guiding teams to resolve complex technical challenges within tight timelines
The base salary range for this role is $149,000 - $225,000.00.

- The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.
