Junior SDET Engineer

London Victoria Office - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Junior Playwright Automation Engineer to join our growing quality assurance and automation team. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with at least two years of experience in automation testing using Playwright or similar frameworks. You will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software by developing and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using Playwright.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA teams to understand project requirements and define test automation strategies.
  • Maintain and update existing automation frameworks to ensure robust and scalable test coverage.
  • Perform root cause analysis of test failures and report defects to development teams.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure alignment of testing efforts with project goals.
  • Contribute to continuous integration and deployment pipelines by integrating automated tests.
  • Document test plans, test cases, and test results in accordance with company standards.
  • Provide feedback on usability and suggest improvements to enhance the overall user experience.

Experience and Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in test automation using Playwright or a similar end-to-end testing framework.
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and the ability to write clean, maintainable code.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub Actions).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in performance and load testing.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure, etc.).
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and API testing.
