Luxor is building Luxor Cloud, a next-generation cloud infrastructure platform designed to provide scalable services to customer. As part of our mission to deliver high-performance cloud offerings, we're seeking a talented Software Developer to work closely with our Data Center Engineer and KVM Engineer to design, optimize, or even build a custom Software-Defined Networking (SDN) solution tailored to our infrastructure needs.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work on complex networking challenges, from integrating existing SDN solutions to architecting new systems that will serve as the backbone of Luxor Cloud’s networking stack.

Requirements:

  • Strong proficiency in C, C++, or Rust for developing high-performance, low-latency networking applications.
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols such as:
  • VLAN, VXLAN, BGP, EVPN, MPLS, and IPsec.
  • Control plane and data plane separation in SDN architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with SDN technologies like:
  • Open vSwitch (OVS), Snabb, ZeroTier, and SONiC.
  • Solid knowledge of Linux networking stack, including:
  • iptables, nftables, netfilter, and kernel-level networking modules.
  • Familiarity with network performance tuning and high-speed packet processing techniques.
  • Strong background in network security protocols and best practices.
  • English language proficiency.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with DPDK (Data Plane Development Kit) for fast packet processing.
  • Familiarity with BGP EVPN for data center fabric and overlay network design.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native networking (CNI plugins, Kubernetes networking stack).
  • Exposure to hardware offloading technologies (e.g., SR-IOV, SmartNICs).
  • Understanding of distributed systems and scalable cloud architectures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in network software development or SDN-related projects.
  • Strong proficiency in C, C++, or Rust for developing high-performance networking applications.
  • In-depth understanding of networking protocols such as BGP, EVPN, OSPF, VLAN, VXLAN, MPLS, and IPsec.
  • Experience working with SDN technologies like Open vSwitch (OVS), Snabb, ZeroTier.
  • Strong knowledge of network architecture, including data center networking, overlay networks, and control plane/data plane separation.
  • Proficiency in Linux networking stack, including iptables, nftables, and kernel networking modules.
  • Experience with Go is plus.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Experience working with remote teams.
