Job Description

Architects design digital blueprints for projects. They create scalable, efficient, and secure IT systems to ensure alignment with business goals before, during, and after development. Our Architects possess a blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and strong communication skills. 

As a Solution Architect at Endava, working within the internal technology (InTech) team you will help revolutionise our internal business by weaving innovative technological solutions into Endava's operational fabric. With unparalleled technical expertise and exceptional business-facing consultation skills, you will be instrumental in conceptualising, designing, and implementing technology solutions. These solutions will tackle the most intricate business challenges while aligning perfectly with overarching strategic objectives. You will serve as the crucial link, seamlessly connecting technical teams with business stakeholders and propelling digital transformation initiatives across all of Endava's operations, supporting a diverse spectrum of industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Solution Architecture: Architect and design sophisticated solutions of enterprise-calibre, tailored to meet the specific demands and strategic aspirations of Endava's business units. Incorporate frontend and backend programming technologies, strategic enterprise platforms (Oracle Fusion and Microsoft Dynamics), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), SQL / NoSQL databases, on-premises / cloud infrastructure, intranet/extranet networking technologies, ensuring alignment with security and regulatory compliance standards. 
  • Workshop Leadership: Drive workshops aimed at identifying and fully understanding the intricate problem spaces faced by Endava's business units, articulating potential technology solutions with exceptional clarity and effectiveness.
  • Credibility and Communication: Develop and maintain credibility across technological and non-technical domains, ensuring effective communication with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Digital Transformation Leadership: Spearhead ambitious digital transformation initiatives, guiding clients through their journey and ensuring solutions align with business objectives.
  • Advocacy for Best Practices: Advocate for best practices within software development and architectural design, mentoring team members and fostering an environment of continuous learning.
  • Complex Landscape Navigation: Navigate complex social and technical landscapes, making judicious decisions that balance competing interests and priorities.

Qualifications

  • Software Application Architecture & Design: Demonstrated software design and development experience using leading frontend and backend technologies, programming languages, frameworks, databases, servers, networking, cloud infrastructure, containerisation, and application security.
  • Integration: Experience in software integration utilising strategic enterprise platforms (such as Oracle Fusion and Microsoft Dynamics) plus Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environments.
  • Process: Proficiency in Agile, DevOps, and familiarity with development tools and IDEs such as Eclipse, Visual Studio, and database software.
  • Testing: Awareness of various testing and release management practices and tools including functional testing, non-functional testing, user acceptance testing, A/B testing, and blue-green deployment
  • Exceptional Communication: Demonstrated exceptional abilities in written, verbal, and presentation formats, capable of articulating complex technical concepts with precision.
  • Digital Transformation Leadership: A storied track record of leading digital transformation endeavours and architecting enterprise-level software solutions.
  • Facilitation Expertise: Strong facilitation skills, with extensive experience in conducting workshops and engaging with stakeholder meetings.
  • Domain-Driven Design Mastery: Expertise in domain-driven design principles and proficiency with tools relevant to software architecture, such as RAIDs, C4s, Lean Value Trees.
  • Methodological Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency in Agile and DevOps practices.
  • Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead virtual, geographically dispersed teams across Europe and beyond, forming effective partnerships with client C-level and director-level leadership.
  • Risk Management: Proficiency in risk assessment and management, complemented by a keen commercial acumen.
  • Educational Foundation: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent caliber of professional experience.

  • Negotiation Mastery: Demonstrated ability to negotiate trade-offs with both external and internal stakeholders effectively, balancing diverse requirements and expectations to achieve both project and organisational objectives.

  • Strategic Planning: Significant experience in leading or contributing to the creation of product roadmaps, service blueprints, user journeys, technology roadmaps, data flow diagrams, C4 diagrams, Lean Value Trees, and build vs. buy decision matrices, highlighting a deep understanding of comprehensive project planning and execution.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership qualities paired with a fervent passion for mentoring team members across technical and non-technical areas, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Adaptability: A flexible and adaptable approach, comfortable in making informed decisions even in scenarios with limited information, reflecting confidence and leadership.
  • Problem-Solving: Robust problem-solving skills with an ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment across diverse teams.
  • Analytical Expertise: Proficiency in applying analytical skills to a broad range of business challenges, leveraging data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions and optimise outcomes.
