Solutions Architect | £80-95k | Remote/Hybrid Shoreham Office (occasional)

Design the technical backbone of a 1,300-person Microsoft technology powerhouse.

Focus Group isn't just another MSP. We're an HG Capital-backed Microsoft technology partner building enterprise-grade solutions that matter. As our Solutions Architect, you'll be the critical bridge between ambitious business objectives and technical reality—designing the systems and integrations that power our growth.

What You'll Own

Strategic Architecture: Design end-to-end solutions for our diverse ecosystem of proprietary and third-party applications, working directly with our Technical Design Authority to set enterprise standards.

Technical Leadership: Guide development teams through the full lifecycle—from architectural blueprints to production deployment—ensuring every solution is scalable, secure, and future-proof.

Innovation Pipeline: Run proof-of-concept projects, evaluate emerging technologies, and drive continuous improvement across our Azure-centric technology stack.

Stakeholder Partnership: Collaborate with our PMO and business leaders to translate complex requirements into elegant technical solutions that deliver real business value.

Your Technical Foundation

Essential:

  • 5+ years in software development, systems design, or IT architecture
  • Azure cloud platform expertise | RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
  • Middleware and system integration
  • CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles
  • Strong stakeholder management skills

Ideal:

  • Azure services (Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, Service Bus)
  • IaC and containerisation
  • Event-driven architectures
  • Security frameworks (OAuth, SAML, zero-trust)
  • Jira and Atlassian suite
  • Architecture governance experience
Why This Role Matters

You won't be creating documentation in isolation. You'll be shaping the technical direction of a rapidly growing organisation, working on both internal systems that drive operational excellence and customer-facing products that generate revenue. This is hands-on architecture with strategic impact—reporting directly to our CTO with genuine influence over technical decisions.
