JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Senior Product Designer at Empower, you'll be integral to the entire design process. Our Product Designers are customer-centric and collaborate closely with other designers, product managers, and engineers to bring innovative ideas to life, ensuring our products positively impact our customers' financial lives.
Successful Senior Product Designers are ambitious and relentlessly pursue excellence. Design thinking is at the core of their creative process. They push boundaries and innovate, applying design thinking principles to solve complex problems and create user-centered solutions. This involves empathizing with users, defining clear and actionable insights, ideating on potential solutions, prototyping, and rigorously testing their designs to ensure they meet the highest standards. Their ambition drives them to continuously improve and refine their skills, staying ahead of industry trends and delivering exceptional value through thoughtful, well-crafted design.
Empower is a remote-first company. We drive connectivity through regular company offsites. Travel for company offsites is expected at a minimum 2 times a year.
Qualifications

  • 4-5+ years of work experience in product design, visual design, UI/UX and mobile app design
  • Own design projects across the entire product lifecycle and iterations that follow
  • Work closely with our product, engineering, and ops teams to find visually appealing and practical solutions to business problems
  • Influence and help shape the design culture at Empower
  • Strong customer empathy and experience shaping product's User Experience and execution based on customer needs
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and logical structuring abilities
  • An excellent portfolio that demonstrates love and care for their craft (Please submit your portfolio)
  • Proven experience building high-quality consumer-facing mobile products
  • Experience quickly iterating and building prototypes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Expert level skills in Figma or Sketch
  • Relevant fintech experience is a plus
