Systems Modelling and Analysis Engineer

The successful candidate will work on Environmental Control Systems (ECS), Life Support Systems (LSS), and Components for aircraft and ground applications. The Systems Modelling and Analysis (SM&A) Engineer will undertake tasks demanding technical expertise involving co-operation with other departments. Responsibilities include building steady state and dynamic models of Environmental Control Systems and Life Support Systems; perform and analyse system performance simulations, provide analytical input to the design process and conduct the analysis and interpretation of test results.

The successful applicant will report directly to the Senior ECS System Engineering Manager, and you will work out of our Yeovil (UK) location. We offer a hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the company's ability to deliver high-quality, innovative, and technologically advanced ECS and LSS solutions. Your technical expertise and commitment to excellence will contribute to the company's success, reputation, and growth in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
  • Working knowledge of thermodynamic, fluid flow and control theory is required.
  • Knowledge of Aircraft pneumatic systems and components is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Aerospace industry guidelines, specifications and practices is beneficial.
  • Experience of analytical tools, including Matlab/Simulink, CFD, Simcenter or similar would be beneficial.

Key skills and qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively using written, verbal and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications. 
  • Ability to carry out theoretical engineering. 
  • Ability to resolve problems using scientific methods.
  • May interact with external customers to facilitate and support the completion of modelled analysis.
  • Present project work status to Honeywell Aerospace leadership.
  • Assess & analyse data to enable effective compliance to the customer and design needs.
  • Propose technical improvements using engineering knowledge, principles and experience.

This position is subject to meeting the eligibility conditions of export control licenses and technical assistant agreements.
