The role

What will you be doing?

Talent Acquisition Consultant (Fixed Term Contract)
Location: Basingstoke or Dorking (3 days per week on-site, hybrid working)
Reporting to: Head of Talent Acquisition
Salary: £38,000 - £40,000
Due to maternity leave, we’re looking for an experienced Talent Acquisition Consultant to join Unum UK on a 12 month FTC.
This is a hands on role for someone who enjoys owning the full hiring lifecycle, builds strong partnerships quickly, and brings a proactive, organised approach. Working alongside a Senior TA Consultant, you’ll lead on recruitment for mid management and below, ensuring a smooth, professional experience for hiring managers and candidates.
This role is ideal for an experienced Talent Acquisition Consultant who is keen to step up, develop breadth, and grow their impact while working in a modern and evolving TA model.

What will you bring?

What you’ll do

  • Partner with the Senior TA Consultant, HRBPs and hiring managers to understand workforce needs and provide expert recruitment advice.
  • Lead end‑to‑end hiring, from briefing to offer, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Proactively manage expectations, anticipate risks, and keep stakeholders updated.
  • Directly source talent using a variety of digital tools, outreach techniques and creative attraction strategies.
  • Balance multiple roles effectively, staying organised and delivery‑focused.
  • Drive improvements in process, candidate experience and ways of working.
  • Use recruitment systems, data and AI‑enabled tools confidently, seeking opportunities to enhance efficiency.
