Job Description:

A position for a Data Engineer has just arised within Airbus Defence & Space. The successful candidate will join TDDT Data Integration team which is part of AD&S Data Management & Analytics. As a Data Engineer part of Data Integration you will take responsibility for the data integration pipelines design, implementation and deployment, between multiple data sources including Business Systems, Engineering Systems, Machines, Drones, etc. using our transversal and transnational Integration Platforms/Products. The successful candidate will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of experts working in classical and agile project management methodologies. Depending on the projects the applicant will have an end-to-end accountability for the solution implementation and provide the necessary inputs to his/her colleagues to guarantee the best in class service after deployment phase. 

You will make the data fly inside Airbus Defence & Space and also from and to outside partners, customers or governments!

Main tasks:

  • Responsible of the integration activities, including design, implementation and deployment, inside data integration products to accomplish requests from the Digital projects

  • Responsible to define the integration tasks associated to the new developments related to new Use Cases or needs raised by team Product Owner, in close alignment with the business partners in Digital

  • Responsible of UATs and Deployment activities associated to new data integrations in close alignment with Operation Manager of associated data integration product

  • Support Data Integration Platform performance analysis in order to guarantee the existing SLA 

  • Support to the solution architects in the team in the installation and set up of the new API management solution in microservice distributed architecture

  • Support on migration of the existing data pipelines into the new API-based architecture

Outputs:

  • Information Flows up to date with the new data flows developed and deployed

  • Data Integration Platform SLR up to date

  • Configuration Mgt documentation

  • UATs deliverables in alignment with Project Manager

  • Deployment plan and associated acceptance criteria per data flows

  • Data Integration technologies metrics

  • Technical advice on architecture and integrations related to project tasks in his/her perimeter or responsibility

Skills & Competencies:

  • University degree in IT related field

  • English at negotiation level

  • Spanish at native level or minimally at negotiation level

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

  • Over 5 years of relevant work experience as a Data Integration Engineer 

  • Over years of hands-on experience in building data pipelines with Enterprise Data Integration Platforms (middlewares, ETL, ELT, API platforms …)

  • API based services technologies experience

  •  solutions/integrations for large scale data pipelines (on-premises)

  • Experience in handling data from a variety of sources like csv, json, xml, relational databases and so on

  • Deep experience in programming languages related to data integration (Python, Flask, Node, JavaScript, Express …)

  • Deep knowledge on On Premises Cloud architecture

  • Experience in developing technical and support documentation, translate business requirements and needs into reporting and models

  • Proficiency in querying and managing both relational and NoSQL databases

  • Microservices and EDA architecture knowledge would be a plus

  • Knowledge on DevOps methods and tools (some experience would be a plus)

  • IT project management knowledge

  • Agentic AI and MCP integration knowledge would be a plus

  • Basic knowledge about Data Analytics

  • Agile methodologies
