What Will Your Mission Be? 🎯

We are looking for a Technical Publisher based in Bristol, UK, to support a complex radar development programme within the defence and aerospace sector.

As a Technical Publisher, you will be responsible for creating, managing, and delivering high-quality technical documentation in compliance with customer, industry, and defence standards. Your work will be key to ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency across the full documentation lifecycle playing a central role in how the project delivers to its customers.

Job Description

 

  • Develop, edit, and publish technical documentation including manuals, data modules, test reports, and qualification evidence for radar systems.
  • Ensure compliance with ASD S1000D, DEF STAN, and other relevant defence and industry standards.
  • Use Teamcenter Unified (TCU) to manage document structures, metadata, version control, and configuration baselines.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, systems, and support teams to extract technical data and transform it into clear, user-focused content.
  • Maintain consistency, accuracy, and integrity of documentation across multiple product variants and development phases.
  • Support document change management and configuration control activities through TCU workflows.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve publication queries and provide technical support.
  • Contribute to process improvements in technical publishing, with a focus on TCU integration and automation.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Technical Publisher, Technical Author, or Technical Documentation Specialist in an engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of S1000D, XML-based authoring tools, and technical documentation processes.
  • Experience working with PLM/document management systems (e.g., Teamcenter) and document version control.
  • Ability to collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts to gather and structure technical information.
  • Strong technical editing, proofreading, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with ILS principles, defence, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries is an advantage.
  • Experience with technical illustrations and publishing tools is a plus.
  • Eligible to obtain security clearance for defence-related projects.
