The Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mid-Level Technical Writer with a passion for creating clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. The ideal candidate will work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to produce technical documents that simplify complex concepts for users. This role is essential for ensuring that our products are well-documented and easy to understand, contributing to a seamless user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Documentation Creation:

  • Develop, write, and maintain high-quality documentation including user manuals, product guides, technical specifications, and API documentation.
  • Work closely with product teams to ensure all content is accurate and up-to-date.

Collaboration with Teams:

  • Partner with product managers, engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to gather information and translate technical details into accessible documentation for a variety of audiences.

Content Management:

  • Maintain a repository of documentation, ensuring consistency, clarity, and organization across all documents. Regularly update content as products evolve and new features are released.

User-Centered Writing:

  • Ensure documentation is tailored to meet the needs of end-users, making technical concepts understandable and actionable. Conduct user research and feedback sessions to improve documentation based on real user insights

Documentation Standards:

  • Establish and adhere to documentation standards and best practices to ensure consistency in tone, style, and format. Help define and refine documentation workflows and processes.

Technology Awareness:

  • Stay informed about the latest industry trends and technologies relevant to our products, ensuring that documentation evolves alongside the product development process.

Professional Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in a software or technology-related environment.

  • Passionate about making complex information accessible and easy to understand. An advocate for user experience in all aspects of documentation
  • Excellent communication skills and able to work well with technical and non-technical teams
  • Strong multi-tasking, organisation and project management skills
  • Able to problem-solve, adapt to changing priorities and work at a fast pace
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience using documentation tools such as Confluence, GitHub, Markdown, and other content management systems. Familiarity with diagramming tools is a plus
  • Excited by the prospect of continuous learning and improvement

Working location

The Fospha UK team is based at the Scale Space tech campus in West London - where you can partake in a full social calendar of community events & classes. Whilst at Fospha we pride ourselves on flexibility (accommodating hours and personal circumstances), we are an office-first company with a minimum 4 day/week office policy (5 during probation). In our experience this is the best way to get new joiners get up to speed quickly, benefiting from in-person learning, collaboration and social interactions!
