Job Description

Summary and purpose of the Job:

The High Touch Sales Engineer works with a named set of customers to demonstrate product value and drive customer success, ultimately achieving increased revenue and customer retention.

 

You will work with customers to understand their technical and business requirements and support the sales process by conducting product demonstrations and creating and presenting proposals, bid responses and technical design documentation.

Responsibilities (but not limited to):

The extent of your duties will include but are not limited to:

Building customer relationships

  • Build strong, long terms relationships with named key strategic customers, gaining a deep understanding of their UC and Contact Centre environments.
  • Become our customers’ trusted advisor, supporting long term planning and defining strategic direction.
  • Gather customer feedback to improve products and services.

Understand customer need

  • Engage with customers to gather technical and business requirements.
  • Analyse customer challenges to identify opportunities where Wavenet’s solutions can provide value.

Technical expertise and product knowledge

  • Subject matter expert on vendor (initially Mitel and Avaya) solutions, upgrade options and product roadmaps.
  • Maintain up to date industry and product certifications.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, or proof-of-concept trials to showcase the value and functionality of the product.
  • Tailor technical solutions to meet the specific needs of clients, using in-depth knowledge of the product.
  • Ensure customer system licences, software renewals, upgrades and managed

Collaboration with sales teams

  • Attend regular meetings with customers and Account Managers.
  • Work closely with sales representatives to understand client needs and recommend solutions to drive increased revenue and customer retention.
  • Help craft proposals, bid and tender responses (e.g. RFQs and RFPs) ensuring technical accuracy.

Technology transformation

  • Plan and manage customer base migration activity to support Wavenet’s growth goals.
  • Provide technical input and customer support facilitate migrations.
  • Provide sales teams with supporting documentation utilising relationships with marketing and vendors to create.
  • Work with project management and delivery teams to ensure successful migrations.
  • Liaise with vendors to gain support and resource requirements.

Market awareness

  • Stay informed about competitors' products and industry trends to position offerings effectively.
  • Recommend product or service enhancements based on customer insights and market research.

Documentation and reporting

  • Create technical design, professional services specification and solution description documentation.
  • Ensure appropriate pricing schedules are created in line with the solution design for contract submission.
  • Follow internal governance process for solution and cost sign off at all required levels.
  • Provide accurate, timely management information and reporting.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of the product, industry, and customer use cases.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to explain complex technical concepts in layman's terms.
  • Sales Mindset: Knowledge of the sales process, negotiation skills, and customer service orientation.
  • Strong Documentation Skills: Ability to create accurate, detailed technical documentation and proposals while effectively managing time.
  • Results-Oriented Mindset: Focus on driving revenue and customer retention.
  • Excellent Commercial knowledge
