The Workday Security Analyst manages user access and security within Workday, ensuring compliance with policies and supporting audits. This role involves configuring security settings, resolving access requests, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance information security practices.

Responsibilities
The Workday Security Analyst will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments:- Implement and maintain Workday security, including user profiles, roles, security groups, permissions, domain/object security, and reporting/query security across all Workday areas, including but not limited to HCM, Benefits, Payroll, Time & Attendance, Talent Acquisition, Performance, and Advanced Compensation.
- Assess and resolve security-related access requests within established guidelines and service expectations (SLAs).
- Interface with internal customers to support security requests and proactively monitor and escalate risks, issues, and access anomalies.
- Maintain all levels of department/location-based security, including business process approval flows, permissions, and setup.
- Serve as a liaison with cross-functional teams to translate complex business needs into effective security design recommendations, perform system/security analysis, configure solutions, and lead testing and deployment activities.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for projects and implementations, including participation in status meetings, working sessions, and testing cycles.
- Partner with functional and technical resources to ensure security standards and established processes are followed during projects, enhancements, and implementations.
- Support information security audits from an application/data perspective and perform risk assessments, including identification, mitigation, documentation, and delivery of audit evidence.
- Assist with planning and execution of test scenarios, test scripts, and UAT support to validate controls and end-to-end processes.
- Recommend and apply security best practices (e.g., least privilege, confidentiality/integrity controls) to support end-to-end business processes.
- Document business requirements, functional specifications, and technical/security documentation.
- Communicate technical and security concepts clearly to a broad range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Act as an active member of the Workday community by staying current on Workday security updates, fixes, and resolutions.
- Perform other related duties as required to meet the primary purpose of the position.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Workday Configurable Security and/or Advanced Configurable Security.
- Proven ability to configure and maintain security groups, roles, user access, domain/object security, and Business Process Security Policies (approvals, routing, step conditions).
- Experience securing Workday reporting/query results, including access to reports, data sources, and outputs.
- Ability to translate business requirements into secure solutions, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver configuration, testing, and deployment.
- Experience supporting audit requests and performing risk assessments with clear documentation and mitigation plans.
- Strong documentation skills (requirements, functional/technical specs) and ability to explain security concepts to diverse audiences.
- Effective collaboration in a matrixed and global environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Intermediate Workday/HRIS capability.
Requirements / Qualifications
- 3+ years of Workday security experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field.
- Excellent communication skills in English (B2+ or higher) and ability to collaborate across functions and geographies.
- Solid and comprehensive knowledge of information security principles and practices (e.g., confidentiality, integrity, least privilege).
- Experience working in a matrixed environment.
- Workday Certification: Configurable Security and/or Advanced Configurable Security.
- Workday Certification: HCM Fundamentals and/or other HRIS-related certifications.
- Food distribution industry experience is a plus.
