As a Regional Sales Executive for Higher Education, you'll guide prestigious institutions through today's complex financial landscape. Our Axiom Higher Education EPM solution seamlessly integrates with major ERP systems, empowering finance teams with streamlined budgeting, planning, and robust reporting for data-driven decisions.
This individual contributor role demands self-motivation and a competitive spirit, crucial for success in generating leads and building the Higher Education vertical. Your proven track record in prospecting, along with previous experience in higher education, will be instrumental in connecting with clients and showcasing the value of our solutions. As the face of the company in the field, professionalism and competence are paramount. Collaborating with the sales team, you'll craft strategies to target and close sales opportunities, articulating our value proposition to key stakeholders. Effective Regional Sales Executives excel in understanding and translating client needs, employing creative and adaptive approaches to eliminate obstacles.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Achieve or surpass jointly established sales revenue goals.
- Consistently generate a robust sales pipeline.
- Skillfully assess the market potential of each opportunity.
- Navigate the end-to-end sales cycle proficiently, including needs analysis, remote and on-site presentations, objection handling, rapport building, proposal writing and delivery, contract negotiation and closure, ensuring a seamless transition for clients from sales to services.
- Expertly position the value proposition of the Axiom Higher Education Suite (technology, services, support).
- Stay current on EPM market trends, competing products, and strategies.
- Act as the company's "eyes and ears" in the field by providing valuable feedback to marketing, consulting, development, and other key areas of the Higher Education vertical.
- Cultivate enduring relationships that uncover new opportunities, delivering value to customers and generating revenue for Strata.
What we’re looking for:
- Ability to travel throughout your assigned territory (currently about 2 trips per month involving 1 or 2 night stays each trip, but could be more or less in any given month)
- 3+ years in enterprise software sales, or management consulting, in higher education is required.
- 3+ years’ experience managing sales targets more than $2 million.
- Experience selling EPM, ERP, or other financial software is preferred.
- Experience selling to financial buyers in higher education is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of performance management topics, such as budgeting, planning and reporting.
- Fearless in pursing clients, prospecting, winning new business.
- Highly self-motivated and enthusiastic – possess a strong desire to succeed while always maintaining the highest level of integrity.
- Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written, including excellent presentation skills. Must be able to confidently and effectively communicate with Finance and IT professionals at all levels of the organization, including key stakeholders and the C-suite.
- High energy, entrepreneurial spirit, passionate about being part of a growing business.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Highly personable and genuine, a person clients enjoy interacting with.
- Excellent organizational skills, able to set priorities, and be highly responsive to customer requests.
- Strong attention to detail, high levels of professionalism and polish in all interactions.
- Commitment to all back-office activities such as forecasting, maintaining an up-to-date view of your pipeline in Salesforce.
- Exceptional team rapport with solution engineering, marketing, sales management and others
Estimated Salary Range: $80,000 - $135,000 + variable commission
Actual salary will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, skill set and level of experience. This salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Strata also provides discretionary variable pay programs based on role. In addition, Strata provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits, health and welfare benefits, paid time off, parental leave, life and accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits.

The preferred location for this role is in Chicago, IL or St. Louis, MO. We value our people spending time together and have campuses hosting in-person events located in both cities. We are truly a hybrid environment with all team members experiencing the flexibility to work from home.
