Role Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Engineering Project Manager to join our Nuclear New Build business unit. As part of this role, you will be embedded into one of our prestigious clients, such as EDF, to support the management of large-scale, complex projects like Hinkley Point C.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual looking to grow their career in engineering project management, with the opportunity to work on some of the most critical energy infrastructure projects in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Coordination: Assist in the planning, organisation, and delivery of project activities to meet agreed objectives, schedules, and budgets.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between Assystem, EDF, and other project stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and effective collaboration.
- Performance Monitoring: Support the tracking of project progress, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation measures.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare, review, and update project documentation, reports, and presentations to ensure project milestones and deliverables are clearly communicated.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve project processes and deliver enhanced outcomes for the client.
Qualifications
Essential:
- A degree in Engineering (or a related technical discipline).
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with an ability to manage competing priorities.
- A proactive mindset and enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Interest in obtaining a formal project management qualification (e.g., AMP, PMP) – funding and support provided by Assystem.
Desirable:
- A formal project management qualification (e.g., AMP, PMP) or a degree in Project Management.
- Previous experience in a project management or coordination role, particularly in the nuclear, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
- Familiarity with project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).

Location: Flexible – Primarily based at our client site (Bridgewater) with potential for hybrid working
