Job Description

Join a team where your work directly supports the people, skills and planning needed to deliver some of the UK's most significant nuclear projects. At EDF, Success is Personal. As an Assistant Project Manager, for a 12-month secondment, you'll help shape workforce strategies, support business-critical decisions, and build experience that can accelerate your career in project management and organisational planning.

The Opportunity

As an Assistant Project Manager within EDF EPR Engineering UK, you'll play an important role in coordinating workforce planning, competency forecasting, and organisational development activities that support the delivery of Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C. Your work will help ensure the right skills and resources are in place to support our journey towards An Electric Britain and help Britain achieve net zero.

You'll join us on a salary starting of £50,000 per annum. This is a 12-month secondment opportunity based at our #Bristol Aztec West office, with hybrid working arrangements that include three days per week in the office and the flexibility to work from home or another EDF office for the remaining two days.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, including Discipline Managers and business leaders, you'll gain exposure to strategic workforce planning, organisational transformation, and resource forecasting. You'll also play a key role in supporting staffing decisions, developing performance insights, and helping drive continuous improvement across the business.

Who You Are

We're looking for an Assistant Project Manager who is organised, analytical, and comfortable working with complex datasets while collaborating with a range of stakeholders. To be shortlisted, you need to offer:

  • Experience within project management, workforce planning, resource planning, or a related business support environment
  • Experience managing, analysing, and maintaining large volumes of data with a high level of accuracy
  • Knowledge of workforce planning, competency planning, resource forecasting, or budget management processes
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to produce reports, analyse data, and support decision-making
  • Fluent written and spoken English

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Coordinating workforce planning activities, ensuring forecasts, structures, and resource data remain accurate and aligned to business needs
  • Supporting competency and skills forecasting exercises, including mid and long-term workforce planning activities
  • Working with stakeholders across the business to consolidate data and support resource and staffing decisions
  • Monitoring workforce, budget, and performance information while maintaining reporting and tracking tools
  • Supporting operational excellence initiatives and identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency

Pay, Benefits and Culture

Alongside a salary starting of £50,000 per annum, potential for an annual bonus, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.

At EDF, we believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That's why we offer you the freedom to develop a career that's unique to you. Here, Success is Personal – it's your journey, powered by us.

Everyone is welcome at EDF; we're committed to building a workforce that reflects gender balance, social mobility, and inclusion of minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+ communities, and those with disabilities. As a Disability Confident employer, we will support applicants requiring adjustments.

Join us and find your success at EDF!
