CircleCI is seeking a part-time engineer to help build and maintain our benchmarking automation.
In this role you’ll work closely with our PMM Team and technical leadership to craft, maintain and update a script-based program of benchmarking across common CI/CD tools. You will then share these results and work with the PMM Team to ensure they can be meaningfully consumed by company stakeholders.
This role will begin as a one year contract with the option to renew using the following schedule.
- 80 hours allocated for the first two weeks
- 20 hours allocated per subsequent quarter (August, November, February) to refresh, maintain or adjust this work.
This is an independent role, which means you will be a team of one. As a result, outside of set meetings with your supervisors, you will be able to manage your own time and work schedule.
Core Skills Required
- Experience doing basic infrastructure spin up/spin down with AWS
- Experience using Python (or Go) to write automation (sample requested)
- Experience working with REST APIs to set up automation (samples required)
- Experience configuring CI systems in tools such as GHA, Gitlab, CircleCI, etc
- Track record of working independently with on-time delivery.
Key Responsibility
Designing and executing automated performance testing scripts for specified CI/CD workflows in specified CI/CD tools including collection of relevant performance metrics.
Then maintaining and altering these to adapt to changes in the tech, understanding and competitive landscape in subsequent once-quarterly check-ins.
