DEPARTMENT/TEAM PURPOSE:  

The finance team provides critical information to the company's leadership for effective management, whilst helping other departments assess their performance against objectives. Each vertical within finance team plays an important role in helping the wider business, whether it be through day in day out payment processing; revenue collections; product control; financial reporting or budgeting & forecasting. The collective efforts of the finance team help deliver critical information to leaderships and help their colleagues and company achieve their goals. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Support the planning, budgeting, forecasting processes to help steer the business towards its strategic plan 
  • Driving the production of FP&A reports to the FP&A manager and management teams; coordinating the delivery of inputs from across the business, providing support wherever necessary to ensure deadlines are met and outputs meet the required high standard 
  • Industrialising insights into business unit level profitability and enabling data-driven decision making 
  • Business partnering with departmental heads to produce best-in-class management information, insightful analysis and commentary on financial performance within Copper Group  
  • Developing dashboards that focus the business on critical leading indicators and KPIs that appraise new customer acquisition, ongoing customer management and business performance; whilst implementing low-effort / highly-repeatable processes to ensure they are accurately measured and monitored 
  • Take part of continuously to improve FP&A reporting (profit and loss / balance sheet / cash-flow), updating for changes in the business to create reporting packs where required and maintaining a clear line of communication between finance and other departments 
  • Working with wider teams to establish enhanced and real-time reporting across a range of systems

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

Essential  

  • A fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or other overseas equivalent)  
  • Experience working as part of an FP&A team 
  • Exceptional excel, modelling and reporting capabilities 
  • An excellent team player, but also has the ability to work autonomously and drive the agenda for Financial Planning & Analysis based on seeing what is coming up around the corner 
  • Comfortable working with large amounts of detailed information and presenting back impactful analysis, leveraging business systems as appropriate. Experience of using NetSuite and data visualisation & business intelligence tools such as Looker or PowerBI 

Desirable 

  • General knowledge of blockchain infrastructure and digital assets 
  • Experience working in a start-up fast paced environment
