Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for a Product Manager who will be responsible for driving the global product strategy, lifecycle, and market positioning of ABB’s Continuous Gas Analyzers and Continuous Gas Analyzer Sys-tems. Acting as the central point between our customers, global markets, and internal stakeholders, you will ensure that the portfolio remains competitive, profitable, and aligned with market needs. The role combines strong analytical skills, technical insight, and commercial focus to support sustainable growth and strengthen ABB’s value proposition in the analytical measurement industry.

You will lead activities across the full product lifecycle - from defining market and technical require-ments and guiding new product initiatives, to managing performance, planning improvements, and executing product related marketing and launch activities. Your work will contribute directly to ABB’s Analytical Business Line globally.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Leading global market intelligence activities, including segmentation, competitive analysis, and product positioning.

  • Owning technical and market specifications for the product line, and defining business plans that support long‑term portfolio growth.

  • Managing the lifecycle of the portfolio by tracking performance metrics, identifying improvement areas, and implementing corrective actions.

  • Acting as the interface between the external market and internal functions such as Sales, Operations, and R&D to align product needs and development priorities.

  • Defining new product initiatives, including target setting for technical performance, pricing, cost, and capital expenditure.

  • Developing customer‑value‑driven product roadmaps and guiding portfolio evolution to maximize impact and relevance.

  • Leading product marketing communication activities, including launch planning, release preparation, and execution of go‑to‑market actions.

Qualifications for the role
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in product management or in the analytical instrumentation domain.
  • Good understanding of gas analyzer technologies (e.g., zirconium oxide) or the ability to gain technical competence quickly.

  • Proven experience in market analysis and translating insights into product strategy and actions.

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and stakeholder‑management skills, with a solution‑oriented mindset.

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); German is an advantage.
