What you will be doing:

As a Procurement Development Leader (PDL), you will support the People Workstream within Procurement Excellence, focusing on Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP), procurement capability development, training initiatives etc. You will work across multiple projects, providing structure, coordination, and execution support while engaging with key stakeholders to drive functional improvements.

  • Assist in the Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) initiative to assess procurement skills and future workforce needs.

  • Support the design and execution of training programs, competency models, and learning pathways for procurement professionals.

  • Help coordinate capability benchmarking efforts, researching industry best practices and analysing procurement leadership development trends.

  • Assist in change management and functional engagement initiatives, ensuring smooth adoption of new training programs and workforce development strategies.

  • Provide structure and governance to procurement development projects, ensuring timely execution and alignment with business objectives.

  • Support reporting and data integrity for procurement workforce planning and capability tracking.

  • Collaborate with HR, Talent Development, and Procurement Leaders to align skills development initiatives with business priorities.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Degree in a relevant field or CIPS qualification, alongside some procurement or HR experience.

  • Experience in training coordination, learning and development, HR, or workforce planning is beneficial.

  • Ability to innovate and drive a bold approach.

  • Global outlook and exposure to different challenges, cultures, and ways of working.

  • Working across different areas of the business to collaborate with stakeholders and influence without authority.

  • Developing and improving procurement processes, systems and data and a good understanding of future trends for Procurement. 

  • Programme and project management experience would be advantageous

The professional level and salary of the position will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate but is anticipated to be Staff Grade 7-10.
