We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst to work in the Virgin Money Integration Programme within the Finance Workstream, you’ll be working on a variety of integration-related initiatives from inception to completion. Nationwide’s Finance area is responsible for managing the organisation's financial health, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting strategic decision-making.    

 

The role plays a key part in protecting financial integrity, meeting regulatory requirements and enabling a smooth, well‑governed transition that supports long‑term value and confidence for Nationwide’s members.

This is a 24-month Fixed Term Contract.

For this job, you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part-time, you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Swindon or London office. We will also consider Glasgow as a location, noting this is a hubWhilst these locations are where we are primarily looking to fill the role, if you’re an internal applicant based in a different location, we would welcome your application, and if successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this could work for this specific role. Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing

 

A typical day as a Senior Business Analyst in Finance is varied, collaborative and focused on solving real business problems. 

 

You’ll spend time working with Finance colleagues and change partners to understand what’s needed, shape the right solutions and turn ideas into clear, practical designs. You’ll think through how changes affect processes, data and controls, spotting risks early and helping teams manage them. Alongside this, you’ll guide and coach Business Analysts, setting priorities and quality standards. 

 

You’ll be trusted to use your initiative, influence confidently and keep improving how analysis is done.

 

 

About you

 

As a minimum, you’ll have:

 

  • Experience delivering, prioritising, sequencing and sizing Business Analysis activities 
  • Domain experience or knowledge of Finance and/or integration activities
  • Proven analytical skills in defining business outcomes, business requirements, process modelling, operational designs, target operating models and supporting end-to-end delivery
  • Adept at problem identification and resolution – providing meaningful insight and recommendations to facilitate solution discussions
  • A solid understanding of project governance deliverables
  • The ability to confidently communicate; with the ability to present information to senior stakeholders reporting on progress, blockers and challenges 
  • Proven task and line management experience 
  • Ability to accommodate differing needs of multi-disciplined and geographically dispersed teams - consisting of internal and external resources e.g. Third-party suppliers, remote colleagues and contractors
