Job Description

Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Editor / Motion Graphics Designer to lead video editing and motion graphics creation for SUSE, a leading global technology company. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for bringing creative concepts to life through expert editing, motion graphics design, and post-production workflows. You will work closely with global stakeholders to ensure that video content aligns with brand guidelines, project goals, and timelines. This role requires proficiency in Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere Pro, etc.). The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently on both independent and team-driven projects. Candidates should be technically curious, actively exploring AI technologies and the opportunities they provide to enhance creativity, efficiency, and innovation in marketing video production.

Key Responsibilities:Video Editing & Motion Graphics Design:

  • Lead the video editing process from concept through to the final product, ensuring high-quality edits, seamless transitions, and polished results.

  • Maintaining a library of footage and templates.

  • Design and create motion graphics, animation, and visual effects using Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, and other industry-standard tools to enhance video content.

  • Collaborate with the creative team to understand project objectives and provide visual solutions that align with the brand's messaging.

  • Create compelling graphics and animations that elevate the viewer experience, and effectively communicate complex ideas in an engaging, visual format.

  • Work with raw footage, audio tracks, and assets to edit content for various formats including social media, internal presentations, marketing videos, and product demos.

  • Ensure the visual consistency of all video and motion graphic assets, ensuring they align with SUSE’s brand standards and creative direction.

Collaboration with Global Stakeholders:

  • Collaborate with global teams and stakeholders, understanding their needs and ensuring that final deliverables meet creative, technical, and business requirements.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding video editing and motion graphics needs, managing expectations, timelines, and revisions.

  • Lead discussions with stakeholders during feedback loops, ensuring that all feedback is integrated into the final deliverables in a timely and effective manner.

  • Work cross-functionally with content creators, designers, and producers to manage project deliverables and timelines, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.

  • Ensure all projects are completed within budget and meet agreed-upon deadlines, maintaining clear communication with all involved parties.

Project Management & Tools Utilization:

  • Use Airtable, Smartsheet, and Google Suite to manage project timelines, assets, and resources, ensuring the efficient flow of work from pre-production to final delivery.

  • Stay organized with task management, tracking progress, and communicating with internal teams to ensure that all deadlines are met.

  • Provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders on the status of ongoing projects, including timelines, bottlenecks, and resource allocation.

  • Ensure all project files are properly archived and easily accessible for future use.

Travel & On-Set Support:

  • Travel domestically and internationally as required for on-location video shoots, production support, or meetings with stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with production teams on-site to capture high-quality footage and provide support for video and motion graphics needs during shoots.

  • Ensure that the visual integrity of projects is maintained throughout the production process, on set and in post-production.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Editor / Motion Graphics Designer, with a portfolio that demonstrates both video editing and motion graphics design expertise.

  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.), and a solid understanding of motion graphics principles and animation techniques.

  • Strong video editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and tell stories through video.

  • Experience in post-production workflows, including editing, motion design, color grading, and sound editing.

  • Experience collaborating with global teams, managing video content for international audiences and stakeholders.

  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and fix visual and technical issues in both video and motion graphic design.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining high-quality output.

  • Excellent communication skills to provide feedback, explain concepts, and manage client relationships across different time zones and cultural backgrounds.

  • Willingness to travel for on-location shoots and production support when necessary.

Nice to Haves:

  • Familiarity with 3D animation and advanced motion graphics techniques (e.g., Cinema 4D).

  • Familiarity with project management tools like Airtable, Smartsheet, and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive).

  • Experience with visual effects (VFX) or compositing (e.g., using Adobe After Effects or Nuke).

  • Knowledge of social media video specifications and experience creating content for digital platforms (e.g., Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.).

  • Experience working on global campaigns or with international clients, navigating different cultural and creative preferences.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt and adjust during production challenges.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize work, and meet tight deadlines.

  • A passion for storytelling and design, with the ability to create engaging visual content that resonates with global audiences.

  • Creative leadership experience, mentoring junior team members and guiding the creative direction of video projects.
